Nightfall in the City - Can We Humans Avoid Dystopia

I was writing to share some news that seemed exciting when I started. As some of you already know, John’s and my much-loved son, Ian David McDonald, died unexpectedly on May 23, and now nothing is exciting.  I hope you understand if I am more than a bit subdued. 

In spite of our deep sadness, I will keep my prior commitment to participate in the 9th Annual Art Center’s Sculpture Exhibition.  I will, once again, by invitation, exhibit one of my wall sculptures, Nightfall in the City.  The selected piece is one of my most recent, and, I think, one of my best wall sculptures.

This venue is also one of my favorites among the places where I have exhibited over the years.  It is well curated, and I am honored to show my work among those of such talented artists. As the Center's website describes it, "This year's exhibition features a diverse collection of sculptures that explore a variety of materials, styles, and themes, reflecting the unique perspectives and creativity of the artists. From contemporary pieces that challenge traditional forms to classical sculptures that pay homage to timeless techniques, attendees will encounter a rich tapestry of artistic expression."
